Luigiano Continenza, LMT

I am a queer, nonbinary & transgender massage therapist bodyworker, CE educator, gender support coach and consultant for LQBTQI+ allies based out of Tacoma WA. I am deeply passionate about every one of these offerings and come with over a decade of professional experience serving our communities at large.

I am actively involved in gender/queer politics as well as working against systematic oppression. It is a fundamental principle of mine to create and hold a welcoming healing space for all people, in particular marginalized and oppressed communities. I believe everyone should have accessibility to bodywork, education and wellness at large and I offer a sliding scale model to benefit the most vulnerable populations.

I have built a thriving bodywork practice established in 2015 as a Licensed Massage Therapist working to support our trans & gender diverse communities with surgery prep, post-op scar tissue care, chronic pain, treatment specific work and a variety of other gender-affirming, trauma-informed, body-positive hands-on bodywork in Tacoma WA.

I was inspired to develop the Beyond the Binary Training in 2017 so more providers could be trained on gender-affirming care and become visible in order for trans and gender diverse communities to have ample access to the care that we rightfully deserve.  It can be extremely vulnerable and frustrating on many levels as the patient attempting to access the care that is needed for optimal health. These trainings are provided to help bridge that gap between providers knowledge and client’s needs.

I stepped into the role of gender support coach and consultant for LGBTQI+ allies in 2017 after a lifelong lived-experience journey as a trans/non-binary queer person. In addition to the many leadership and mentoring classes I have taken along my journey to step into these roles, I am also grateful for the opportunity to have worked with many teachers, healers and therapists who have offered me invaluable tools for myself and to share with others on similar paths or those looking to support our LGBTQI+ communities at large.
